path of unawareness

It is easy to slip into unawareness as we move about from one activity to the next — falling into a sort of mindless flow disconnected from reality.

When there is unawareness we tend to be reactive, caught up in craving and aversion — building up tension, worry, anxiety, and restlessness.

The path of unawareness only leads to suffering and dissatisfaction and will eventually give you the sense that your life is meaningless.

The first thing we must do, to step off the path of unawareness, is to slow down. Throughout your daily routines, as you move from one activity to the next pause and rest quietly. Even if it is for only a minute or two.

Learn to enjoy the simplicity of silence and inactivity.
